A couple of weeks ago I went to Woolwich to view their annual Sculptures by the Sea.
It's becoming known as a place of curious art and sculptures in a glorious setting.
I enjoyed the humour of the seagulls.
The red-backed spiders are scary at any time.
Political and social comments were on show.
But I still prefer the simple, elegant designs that seem to float in their space.
Which ones do you like best?

The Abbotproof Fence! Very good. I like the seagulls too of course. I like your first photo particularly, not sure if it's the sculpture or your photo that I like most. I'd love to see them for myself of course- but I see I've missed them for this year again.
ReplyDeleteI must admit I really enjoy playing photographer at events like this - playing around with angles, light, shadow, perspective etc. So thanks for the appreciation :-)
DeleteI had to scroll back to the one of the child and the seagulls, to determine that it was all sculpture! Impressive! I like the dolphins in the air too!
ReplyDeleteThe shadows under the trees made it hard for to capture the figure in the seagull sculpture. She was actually an older women enjoying her bag of fish and chips, being harassed by the seagulls.
DeleteThe flying dolphins were one of my favourite pieces too.
Sculpture is probably my favorite art form. I tried to pick a favorite, but I couldn't! The ones that appeal to me most, however, are the fish suspended in midair, the eagle (4th photo), and the seagulls, of course; but all of them are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog today.
I love sculptures of all kinds....yours are fun and creative. Thanks for sharing! Here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful & creative sculptures (and a lovely day, too). I like the dolphins in the sky...and the seagulls look so realistic!
