This week I've gone for contrasting shots.
The whole thing...followed by up close and personal.
First up is the Lily.
The Buddleja or Butterfly Bush.
The Agapanthus.
Finally the Hydrangea.
I love how their flowers change colour from white to blue through to pink
depending on the pH levels of the soil. My nan and pop had a row of hydangea's in their yard - they made a great hiding place when we were kids. Although they're a native of South East Asia, to me they say 'Australian summer'.

What a great idea for a post Brona. Hydrangeas certainly do say Aussie summer, and it's well and truly summer even though it's just starting today officially. I love that last picture best, but all are lovely. I went floral too this week.
ReplyDeleteYes! We've had really humid, warm days here this week with storms in the evening...to make things even muggier!
DeleteThe only good about this type of weather is the heady, earthy smell the rain and heat creates in the evening with the frangipani's, gardenia's and jasmine.
Those hydrangeas are heavenly! All the flowers are beautiful but they have my heart. You ought to do a calendar.:)
ReplyDeleteI must admit I love the close-up of the agapanthus. I never appreciated how delicate each flower is and the lovely stripe of blue through them.
DeleteGreat contrasts! A reminder of the beauty in nature. Thanks for sharing...and here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST
ReplyDeleteVisions in pink and lilac - lovely!
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely flowers and, as always, it seems so odd to think of them blooming on the other side of the world while we are at the start of our English winter - cold, damp and miserable today. My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/xybNM
ReplyDeletebeautiful shots, I really love that lily! Book Savvy Babe
ReplyDeleteI love the two views--one up close and personal. The Agapanthus is quite a beauty--my favorite here.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Snapshot.
Those are fantastic - especially the closeups, they are very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI like all the flowers but the Hydrangea is especially pretty with all it's delicate individual flowers.
ReplyDeleteI love all the beautiful flowers! We have Hydrangea's here and they scream Southern summer to me - I had no idea they're a native of southeast Asia.
ReplyDeleteLove the beautiful colors and the detail in the close-up shots. Nice work!
