Saturday Snapshot is a meme hosted by

Books.
The rules are
simple:
To participate in the
Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have
taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky. Photos can be
old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for
all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you.
Please don’t post random photos that you find online.
Spring time in Sydney is one of the times when our native flowers really show off.
I wish I knew the names of all the different types of Grevillea's, but I dont!
The pink ones above and below are obviously of the Spider variety.
Below is a cultivar called Misty Pink (don't you love google!)
I love how the Eucalyptus leaves change colour.
My understanding is that this can happen at any time of the year and is simply a renewal process like decidious trees go through in the autumn.
And it wouldn't be Spring in Sydney without wattle (acacia).
You've captured the very tenderness of nature, wonderfully.
ReplyDeleteThe reason we have eyes.
Thank you :-)
DeleteStunning :D Love the color of the leaves.
ReplyDeleteYes the 'eucalyptus green' colour is pretty prevalent on Australian natives and as a colour for many home furnishings and in government buildings!
DeleteThose first shots look like they should be in a Doctor Seuss book. Here's Mine
ReplyDeleteWow! I do love every one of these....my favorite might be the brighter pink Grevillia, but it would be a hard choice. Thanks for sharing, Brona, and here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST
ReplyDeleteThat first one is an explosion of pink. Some of the ones after that have an underwater creature look to me.
ReplyDeleteLove the simplicity of the red leaf photo.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely photograph. The plants all seem very mysterious and exotic.
ReplyDeleteThese flowers and photos are simply awesome:) great job.
ReplyDeleteJust lovely♫♪ My brain says spaghetti noodles and pom poms when viewing your superb photographs!
ReplyDeleteWhat amazing flowers and leaves! They all look so exotic for us up here in North America.
ReplyDeleteThey are the most beautiful flowers... I have flowers in my post, but nothing as exotic as tat! http://goo.gl/W9O2Z
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I've ever seen that Misty Pink Grevillea before, it's lovely. Sadly wattle just makes me think of hayfever, all I see is pollen about to be set loose.
ReplyDeleteYes that's why I have photos of from the nearby park and not the real thing - my husband is also affected by hayfever.
DeleteLoved the pictures!
ReplyDeleteHere is my Saturday Snapshot post!
That golden wattle tree is just soo lovely!
