National Gallery of Victoria

Our recent visit to Melbourne saw us at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). They were hosting an Andy Warhol/Ai Weiwei exhibition.

We loved it.

It was a fascinating mix of New York, China, painting, sculpture, photography and interactive pieces.

  9. What a great exhibit! I've seen pictures of Warhol's work, but never the actual pieces. Did they live up to what you expected? (I remember seeing the Mona Lisa for the first time and feeling very "let down.")

    1. I had already seen some of Warhol's work in Moma in 2007 which was quite an experience and part of a worldwide trip which I will never forget.
They didn't make me feel 'let down' - but some did make me go 'WTF'!!

  10. I must have missed a few posts, I didn't realise you'd been in Melbourne recently- I so love it there. This exhibition looks really cool. Modern art isn't my favourite, but I'd love to go through those balloons.
