I love Jacarandas - from the very first tender blooms to the full blown purple canopy.
I love the new green leaves that start to peep through half way through the flowering season.
I even love them scattered over the path after a rain storm.
Part of the reason I love them so much is that they are our wedding anniversary flower.
Six years ago today, Mr Seasons and I pledged our troth in front of our family and friends.
For me Jacaranda flowers equal happy memories and love.

So lovely. I can see why the jacaranda tree is special to you. Are the blooms fragrant?
ReplyDeleteSadly, no, Sandra they are not fragrant. Although considering how bad our hayfever has been this spring, it's probably just as well not to add any more fragrant pollen-rich flowers to the mix!!
DeleteBeautiful! Whether on the tree or the ground, they are lovely gifts of nature. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love jacaranda trees too. There are a few in our son and dil's neighborhood in the Phoenix area.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous... I have always adored the color purple.
ReplyDeleteI've always loved the jacaranda colour, but spent too many years being traumatised by them at Sydney Uni. There is a spectacular jacaranda in the main quad. It blooms just as the exam noticeboards are put out in the corridors behind it. For the first 10 years or so after I left uni I was always strangely disquieted by a jacaranda in bloom. Thankfully now that has passed and I can enjoy them in all their glory, but I will always have that unpleasant association. Your association is so much nicer. Happy Anniversary.
ReplyDeleteI have met several Sydney Uni graduants over the years who have a similar bittersweet association with the jacaranda. I really must go and see the quad tree in full bloom one year - I believe it is one of the more magnificent ones in Sydney.
DeleteWhat beautiful shots of the jacaranda. I haven't heard of it before. Wonderful colour.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! Jacaranda are beautiful flowers for a celebration.
ReplyDeleteWe have them blooming here too! They make such a pleasing sight!
ReplyDeleteLoved your pics.
