Saturday Snapshot - Poinsettia

Saturday Snapshot is a now being hosted by Melinda from West Metro Mommy

The rules are simple:

To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken and leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don’t post random photos that you find online.

We have a poinsettia growing out of a crack in the wall in an ugly, dark corner of our yard.
On a dull winter's day it brightens up the space like magic.

It's a little like an early Christmas!

As you can see, the poinsettia helps to hides a multitude of sins!

  1. Wow, I think that's the biggest poinsettia I've ever seen Brona! They do give a lovely splash of red.

    1. It's existence is so precarious - growing out of a crack in the wall. I've tried to pull it out twice, but it keeps growing back.
The top branches now reach up to our bedroom window on the second floor. The red bracts greet me every morning when I open up the curtains :-)

  4. It reminds me of the poinsettias you see in Hawaii, so different fromt he little potted ones we get here around Christmas.

  7. I'm always amazed when a plant thrives in an odd place like that. It's gorgeous!

  8. Wow, that is big. I grew a very puny poinsettia in a pot after Xmas.

  9. That is the healthiest poinsettia I've ever seen. The only way I can have one here in the Midwestern US is to buy it from a greenhouse and hope it doesn't die too quickly.

    1. I've done everything to discourage it from growing out of the crack in the wall. It is determined to survive though and just comes back bigger and stronger with every attempt!
